KEKERASAN SIMBOLIK DALAM PRAKTEK CYANIDE FISHING: PERILAKU DESTRUKTIF MASYARAKAT NELAYAN SUBSISTEN DI KEPULAUAN ANAMBAS

Abstract
Penangkapan ikan berlebih yang melibatkan penggunaan sianida telah menjadi penyebab utama degradasi ekosistem pesisir lautan, sekaligus mengancam keberlanjutan mata pencaharaian utama nelayan. Oleh karena itu, studi eksplorasi dalam upaya mengungkap perilaku destruktif masyarakat yang subsisten terhadap sumber daya perikanan menjadi penting untuk dilakukan. Konsep kekerasan simbolik dari Bourdieu diperoleh dari identifikasi habitus, modal dalam arena perikanan di Kepulauan Anambas, Indonesia. Penelitian ini menemukan 2 (dua) penyebab utama dalam menjelaskan kekerasan simbolik pada aktivitas cyanide fishing, yakni structured structure habitus destruktif merupakan habitus yang direproduksi oleh tauke untuk mempengaruhi nelayan agar menggunakan sianida dalam setiap aktivitas penangkapan serta dimilikinya modal simbolik yang memungkinkan agar kekerasan simbolik terus direproduksi. Hal ini merupakan gambaran realisme yang sangat bertentangan dengan idealisme kelompok subsisten yang seyogyanya menjaga keberlanjutan sumber daya perikanan.
